Has there ever been a better time for Lean Six Sigma?

General Motors just stopped the Toyota NUMMI joint venture after 25 years. From all that I have heard, it was a very good experience and that GM learned a lot more from the JV than Toyota did. But, Toyota got additional capacity in the United States to (guess what?) … grow!

Now is the time for companies to get even stronger in their lean manufacturing journeys. It is time for companies to get more competitive faster and work to move. And, it is time for those who are committed to the long term to improve their businesses while things are going slower.

Many companies are now faced with consolidations and market share growth opportunities if they can improve their operations quickly to free up cash and move forward faster.

The U.S. economy is based upon innovation, growth and can-do American spirit. Lean gives you the ability to move faster into these facets of business.

How is your company handling the lean journey now that things are slow? Respond to this blog post with your personal comments, questions and stories.
